The proposed solar site lies in an Area of High Landscape Value (AHLV) comprising large open arable fields and rolling downland with extensive open views north towards the historic city of Canterbury and south towards the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). It embraces the conservation area of Nackington and lies adjacent to Whitehill Woods, a designated ancient woodland and abundant natural habitat. The AHLV forms a contextual setting for the AONB from both northerly and southerly viewpoints.
